The Wyoming Public Library Endowment Challenge Program

PHASE ONE

In February 2008 the Wyoming legislature passed a three-tiered Public Library Endowment Challenge Program, which became effective July 1, 2008. Each library was given five years to raise their designated matching funds. On December 23, 2008 - just shy of six months later - the Laramie County Library was the first library in the state to complete raising the maximum funds allowed to receive their 2:1 match from the State.

The state matching funds of $295,652 added to the $147,826 raised by the Foundation gave the library its start toward a sound financial future in the amount of $443,478. The endowment donations can never be spent, but the interest earned will be significant enough to support and fund more library programs and services for years to come.

PHASE TWO

Because the Laramie County Library Foundation (LCLF) has completed Phase One, we can now raise another $50,000 to qualify for the additional $100,000 incentive payment provided in the state legislation. If you are interested in making each dollar you donate become three dollars, please send your donation now. The balance to complete Phase Two stands at $23,830.

Please make checks payable to LCLF and mail to:
