In the very recent past the Laramie County Library has been the recipient of significant state and national awards - for the building, the staff and especially the programs and services offered to our patrons. Without the generosity of the library donors and their hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts, it would not have been possible for the library to receive this kind of recognition.

The Foundation has been responsible for:

1. Raising private funds to cover the 25% gap in operating costs for programs, services and other needs not covered by taxes;
2. Developing a campaign to cover some of the new building enhancements which had to be cut due to unexpected higher construction costs; and
3. Raising nearly $200,000 for the state endowment challenge program, from which we receive a 2:1 match from the state.
