History of the Burns Branch Library
The Burns Branch library first opened on November 28, 1933 in the town hall. Around this time, Laramie County Library System supplied a number of deposit stations (unstaffed collections) in Carpenter, Egbert, and at least 30 rural schools. A more defined branch was opened in Burns to save residents travel time and provide them with a larger selection of the collection.
The Burns Branch Library is located in the heart of Main Street, next to Wyoming Bank & Trust and down the street from the U.S. Post Office. It serves a population of more than 300 people, including the residents within Laramie County School District #2.
This location has a meeting room patrons may reserve for public or private meetings. The conference table can seat 12-16 comfortably, with space around the perimeter of the room for a few additional seats. Coffee, tea, and water are available. Call 307.547.2249 for additional details.
