Burns Branch Library
Serving Burns and surrounding rural communities since 1933
The Burns Branch Library first opened on November 28, 1933, in the town hall. Around this time, the Laramie County Library System also supplied a number of deposit stations (unstaffed collections) in Carpenter, Egbert, and at least 30 rural schools. A more defined branch was later opened in Burns to save residents travel time and provide access to a larger collection.
Today, the Burns Branch Library continues to serve the Burns community and surrounding rural areas, including residents within Laramie County School District #2. The branch offers access to library materials, technology, programs, and meeting space in a welcoming small-town setting.
