You can request materials from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) or suggest an item for us to purchase.
interlibrary loan (ILL)
Request books, audiobooks, DVDs, video games, music CDs, and journal articles from other libraries. Submit your request at any Ask Here desk or online using your library account.
Charges
- $2.00 per request
- $0.10 per page for printed articles
- $2.00 fee ($3.00 for out-of-state) if item tags are not returned
- Additional fees may apply if the lending library charges
timing & pickup
Most items arrive within 7-10 business days, though requests for out-of-state or hard-to-find items may take longer. You’ll be notified when your item is ready for pickup.
genealogy requests
We can borrow genealogy materials from other libraries for in-library use. A $2.00 fee applies.
We will loan genealogy materials owned by Laramie County Library System to Wyoming residents through their local library. These materials are for in-library use only and are not renewable.
If an item can’t be loaned, we may be able to provide scanned or copied information. – In the suggest a purchase section: On the purchase suggestion form, can we make the library card a required field
For Borrowing Libraries
Libraries may submit requests through the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC, Symbol: WYL) or by sending ALA Interlibrary Loan forms via:

- We do not charge lending or shipping fees.
- The standard loan period is three weeks and may be renewed with four days’ notice.
- Movies and games: 7 days
- TV series: 21 days
- Audiovisual materials must be returned in boxes.
Suggest a library purchase
Want to see a new book, movie, or other item added to our shelves? We welcome suggestions from our patrons and review each one following our Collection Development Policy.
Most suggestions are reviewed within 10 business days. While we can’t purchase every item, we prioritize materials published or released within the past 12 to 18 months that meet our selection criteria.
