Laramie County Library System offers free hotspots for checkout and in-house laptops for use while visiting the library. Whether you’re completing homework, working remotely, or simply staying in touch, these devices make it easy to access the internet and digital resources.

Hotspot Checkout

The library’s Verizon Jetpack MiFi 8800L hotspots let you connect multiple devices—such as phones, tablets, or laptops—to the internet anywhere 4G LTE service is available.

Availability

  • Cheyenne: 8 hotspots
  • Burns: 1 hotspot
  • Pine Bluffs: 1 hotspot

Checkout Details

  • Loan period: 7 days
  • One hotspot per household
  • Hotspots may be placed on hold through the library catalog
  • Devices must be returned to the same location where they were checked out
  • Do not return hotspots through the outdoor book drops

Requirements

To check out a hotspot, you must:

  • Have a full privilege adult library card in good standing
  • Have a valid phone number and address on record
  • Sign a Hotspot User Agreement

User Responsibilities

  • Review and follow all terms outlined in the Hotspot User Agreement
  • Return the hotspot and all accessories on time and in good condition
  • Pay any replacement costs for lost or damaged equipment

In-House Laptop Use

Need to work on a project, attend a class, or browse the internet in a quiet spot? Borrow one of the library’s in-house laptops during your visit. 

Availability

  • Cheyenne: 2 laptops
  • Burns: 1 laptop
  • Pine Bluffs: 1 laptop

Details

  • Laptops are for in-library use only
  • Must be returned the same day before the library closes
  • Laptops may not be taken into the Cheyenne gallery area

Requirements

To borrow a laptop, you must:

  • Have a full privilege adult library card in good standing or provide valid ID, or cell phone as collateral
  • Have a valid phone number and address on record
  • Sign an In-House Laptop User Agreement

User Responsibilities

  • Follow all terms outlined in the In-House Laptop User Agreement
  • Keep the laptop in your possession while in use
  • Return the device to staff before closing
