Summer Reading Challenge
Be part of the library community and make reading part of your summer.
Each summer, the Laramie County Library System invites children, teens, and adults to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge—a fun, flexible way to stay engaged, explore new stories, and enjoy reading all season long. Whether you’re a lifelong reader, a budding bookworm, or simply looking for a fun way to enrich your summer, the challenge offers something for everyone.
Participation is free and open to readers of all ages.

This year’s challenge begins June 1, 2026. Full details will be posted here in Spring of 2026.
how to join
Sign up through Beanstack or visit any library location to register and pick up a paper reading log. Then, track your progress between June 1 and August 15 and earn prizes along the way.
Prizes are available beginning June 15.
how it works
Complete the challenge by reading for 25 days—any reading counts, including books, magazines, audiobooks, comics, and reading aloud with someone.
Earn rewards as you reach each milestone:
- Progress Prize — after 15 days of reading
- Completion Prize — after 25 days of reading
- Super Reader Status — at 50 or 75 days
why participate?
Daily reading builds literacy skills for children and teens, encourages lifelong learning, and helps adults discover new authors, explore new interests, or simply enjoy a season full of great stories. The Summer Reading Challenge offers an engaging and motivating way to make reading part of your summer routine.
