A Reimagined Teen Zone

The Teen Zone has long been a dedicated space for teens at Laramie County Library. Now, it’s evolving to better reflect how you want to use the library today.
The Teen Zone has been reimagined as a space for creativity, gaming, collaboration, connection—and FUN. This upgrade is part of our ongoing work to create spaces where you can hang out, try new things, and use the library in ways that fit your life.
Designed with input from teens, the updated Teen Zone is built for how you learn, create, and connect. Whether you’re starting a project, trying something new, or just spending time with friends, this is a space where you can feel welcome, trusted, and inspired.
Gaming as a Gateway
The Teen Zone now includes dedicated gaming systems, giving you a safe and free place to play, connect, and have fun together.
Gaming here is more than just playing—it’s about teamwork, strategy, problem-solving, and hanging out with friends. It’s also a great way to jump into everything else the Teen Zone has to offer.
Available Systems:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X
- Two Nintendo Switch systems
Create, Build, and Explore
The Teen Zone makerspace is where your ideas turn into real projects.
You can design, build, experiment, and try out new skills using a range of high-quality tools. Whether you’re into art, design, tech, or just want to see what you can make, this is your place to start.
To use some of the equipment, you’ll complete a certification first—but that’s part of the experience. It’s a chance to learn something new, build confidence, and unlock even more ways to create.
Available Equipment:
- GlowForge
- Prusa Core One+ 3D Printer
- Two Sewing Machines and Body Form
- Wacom Movink Pad Pro 14
A Space Built on Trust and Belonging
This updated Teen Zone is about more than new equipment—it’s about creating a space that feels like yours.
It’s designed to support creativity, encourage collaboration, and give you the freedom to try new things. It’s also built on respect, communication, and shared responsibility so everyone can feel comfortable being here.
Come See What’s New
This is just the beginning. The Teen Zone will continue to grow and evolve as you use the space and share your ideas.
