Request Review and Resolution Process
Upon receipt of a valid Request for Reconsideration Form, the Executive Director will assign staff to review the request and evaluate it using criteria from relevant LCLS policy. A staff member will contact the requestor to acknowledge receipt of the form and to discuss the request. Events, exhibitions or displays under reconsideration will not be canceled, paused or modified during the process. Library materials or resources under reconsideration will not be removed from the collection during the process, unless in the possession of staff for review.
After evaluating the request, the staff will provide the Executive Director with a written recommendation for resolution. The Director will consider the recommendation and decide on a resolution. The Director will send a written response to the requestor within 30 business days from the date the request was received. The request and the director’s resolution will be issued to the Laramie County Library System Board of Directors and become a public record. The library director’s decision may be appealed to the Library Board of Directors within 45 days of the decision.
The Laramie County Library System (LCLS) shall not reconsider the same library resource more than once every year.
Approved by the Laramie County Library System Board of Directors on November 21, 2025.
