Cozy Corner: A Sensory-Friendly Storytime for Neurodivergent Kids

Every child experiences the world a little differently and at the library, we believe early literacy spaces should reflect that. Cozy Corner is a sensory-friendly, in-person early literacy class thoughtfully designed for children with neurodivergence and their caregivers.

This interactive class creates a welcoming environment where children can enjoy stories, songs, and gentle movement without overwhelming noise or stimulation. Lights, sound levels, and pacing are intentionally adapted to help children feel comfortable, supported, and free to participate in ways that work best for them. Wiggles, quiet moments, and different styles of engagement are all welcome here.

Cozy Corner takes place Friday, January 23, 2026, and is held in person at the library. To keep the environment calm and predictable, class size is limited to 10 children and spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you’re wondering whether this class might be a good fit for your child, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to decide on your own. Our knowledgeable children’s floor staff are happy to talk with you, answer questions, and help you determine if Cozy Corner would be a supportive experience for your family.

At Cozy Corner, the goal isn’t perfection or sitting still. It’s connection, comfort, and the joy of sharing stories together in a space where every child is respected exactly as they are.
