Meet the Winners of Our First Annual Library Card Art Contest!

We are excited to unveil the four winning designs from our First Annual Library Card Art Contest! This summer, Laramie County residents of all ages submitted incredible, original artwork for a chance to see their designs featured on official Laramie County Library System (LCLS) cards. After a public vote, the results are in—and the winning designs are nothing short of inspiring.

Congratulations to our winners:

Ages 6 & under: Mariella, age 3

Ages 7–10: Avery, age 10

Ages 11–14: Karlyn, age 14

Ages 15 & up: Audrey Burgess

These four designs will soon make their debut on library cards across Laramie County—just in time for Library Card Sign-Up Month in September.

Carry Local Art and Endless Possibilities in Your Wallet

September’s theme, One Card, Endless Possibilities, is the perfect backdrop for introducing these new designs. Your library card isn’t just a way to check out books, it’s a key to learning, creativity, and connection. It might open the door to your next great read, but it can also unlock technology and tools like 3D printing, connect you with online learning resources, help you explore local history, or let you stream a new favorite movie.

Whether you’re signing up for your very first card or you already have one and want to swap for a winning design, you can get your card starting September 2, 2025, at any LCLS branch: Cheyenne, Burns, Pine Bluffs, or the Bookmobile.

Celebrate Local Talent—Every Time You Use Your Card

By choosing one of these new cards, you’re not just unlocking library resources, you’re carrying a piece of our community’s creativity with you wherever you go. Thank you to everyone who submitted artwork and to all who voted for their favorites. Together, we’ve blended art, access, and community spirit into one small but mighty card.

Mark your calendar for September to pick your favorite winning design and start exploring the endless possibilities your library card has to offer.

And if you missed your chance to enter this year’s contest, don’t worry, our Library Card Art Contest will be back in 2026! Keep your creativity flowing, and next year your artwork could be in the hands of readers across Laramie County.
