Mobile Library Update – Service Continues While We Await Delivery of the New Vehicle

We want to share an important update about the launch of Laramie County Library System’s new Mobile Library.
Due to a delay in production, delivery of the new Mobile Library is taking longer than originally anticipated. While this is disappointing, our top priority is minimizing disruption to library service for our community.
What This Means for Mobile Library Service
Because of the production delay, we will continue operating the existing bookmobile for the next several weeks while we wait for the new vehicle to be completed and delivered.
Continuing service with the current bookmobile helps avoid an extended gap in access and ensures that patrons who rely on mobile library stops can continue to check out materials, return items, and connect with library staff.
Current Schedule
Mobile Library stops will continue on the existing bookmobile. The most up-to-date schedule is available on our online calendar at: https://lcls.pro/mobile
What Comes Next
We will continue to share updates about the new Mobile Library as information becomes available, including a revised launch timeline once delivery and final preparations are confirmed. When we are able to share a new launch date, it will be posted on our website and shared through our official communication channels.
As part of the transition to the new Mobile Library, there will be a brief future pause in service once the new vehicle arrives. This pause will allow time for final setup, staff training, and a smooth transition from the existing bookmobile to the new Mobile Library. We will share details as soon as they are finalized so patrons can plan ahead.
In the meantime, the existing bookmobile will remain in service, giving Laramie County another opportunity to visit, browse, and spend time with a vehicle that has been an important part of library service for nearly 20 years. For many patrons, the bookmobile has been a first library experience, a regular neighborhood stop, or a familiar and welcoming presence over the years.
We encourage patrons to check LCLSonline.org for the most up-to-date information and follow Laramie County Library System on social media, where we’ll be sharing memories, photos, and stories celebrating the bookmobile and the role it has played in connecting our community to library services.
Thank you for your patience and for being part of this transition as we honor a well-loved service and prepare for what’s next.
Thank You for Your Patience
We appreciate the community’s understanding as we navigate this delay. The new Mobile Library represents a significant investment in expanding access, outreach, and connection across Laramie County, and we want to ensure it is fully ready to meet community needs.
Thank you for your continued support of Laramie County Library System and for your patience as we work to bring this exciting new service to the road.
