Laramie County Library System is committed to ensuring access for everyone, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
We strive to make our buildings, services, and collections welcoming and usable for all patrons. In addition to ADA-compliant facilities, the library offers a variety of resources to support individuals with disabilities.

Available Resources
- Assistive Listening Devices – Available for use in meeting rooms; inquire at the first floor Ask Here desk.
- Assistive Technology Toolkit – Available at the third floor Ask Here desk.
- Accessible Parking – Designated spaces located on 22nd Street and in the parking lot.
- Accessible Collections – Large print books, audiobooks on CD and MP3, and downloadable audiobooks.
- Automatic Door Openers – Installed at main entrances for ease of access.
- Chillville (Sensory-Friendly Space) – Large events and busy environments can be overwhelming for some children and families. Chillville is a designated sensory-friendly space available during select library events, offering a calm place to take a break. The space may include fidget tools, bubbles, a sound machine, and other calming materials designed to help reduce sensory overload and support children with sensory needs and their caregivers.
- Closed Captioned DVDs – Available throughout the audiovisual collection.
- Elevator Access – Connects all public floors of the library.
- Hand-Held Magnifiers – Available at all Ask Here desks.
- Jordy Glasses – Portable, electronic magnifying glasses available at the third floor Ask Here desk.
- Kurzweil Software – Scans printed materials and reads them aloud; available in the Special Collections area on the third floor.
- Mobility Aids – Wheelchair, walkers, and electric mobility scooters available for in-library use.
- Screen Magnifier Software – Installed on all public computers in the library.
- Telesensory Reader – Magnifying device for written materials, located in the Special Collections area on the third floor.
