Quilts Through the Ages: A Community Showcase in Burns & Pine Bluffs

Whether passed down through generations or newly stitched with care, quilts have long told stories of creativity, survival, and community. Join us for a special program that brings those stories to life.

On Tuesday, August 26, the library is proud to welcome Peg Maunier of the SCB County Quilting Group for “Quilts: A History!” This engaging presentation explores the evolution of quilting, from early pioneer practices to modern-day artistry and features a stunning display of both antique and contemporary quilts.

Catch the program at either location:

  • Burns Branch: 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
  • Pine Bluffs Branch: 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

This event is perfect for teens and adults who are curious about textile history, looking to connect with local makers, or simply want to admire beautiful craftsmanship up close.

In addition to Peg’s presentation, each branch will feature a display of local quilts on exhibit from August 26 through August 30. Even if you can’t make the event, stop by during the week to enjoy a self-guided quilt showcase.

Programs like this one help us celebrate the richness of local tradition, the stories woven into everyday objects, and the creativity that connects generations. We hope to see you there!
