Meet the Minds Behind the Books: Local Author Celebration Returns October 11

Love discovering new stories? Want to meet the people who create them? The Laramie County Library System invites you to join us for the 2025 Local Author Celebration on Saturday, October 11, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Cottonwood Room at the Cheyenne Library. 

This free, community-wide event is one of the largest gatherings of local and regional writers in southeast Wyoming, with more than 25 authors coming together to share their work. Whether you’re drawn to heart-pounding mysteries, sweeping romances, Wyoming history, or imaginative children’s tales, you’ll find something to spark your curiosity. 

Connect with Authors, Stories, and Community 

“This event is one of the best opportunities for our community to connect directly with the writers whose stories reflect our culture, landscape, and experiences,” said Geralyn Dyson, Adult Services Event Coordinator. “The Local Author Celebration not only supports the creative work of regional writers but also provides a meaningful way for readers to engage with the stories that shape our community.” 

The afternoon will be brimming with chances to meet authors, ask questions, and purchase signed books. Participating writers represent an incredible range of genres—romance, thrillers, science fiction, poetry, memoir, inspirational nonfiction, and more. Authors scheduled to attend include Barb Gorges, B.H. Burgess, Candice Carroll, Carol Chapman, Cindy Keen Reynders, C.J. Robinson, David A. Bush, Gayle M. Irwin, Gina Holder, Guyla Greenly, Jennie Lawrence, Jessica Friis, Joyce L. Graham, Karen Cotton, Kirk Shamley, Kirsten S. Blacketer, Leah Angstman, Linda Burt, Liz Roadifer, Mary Gillgannon, Merissa Racine, Nicole James Kelley, Nicole M. Jaramillo, Olivia North, Paulla Hunter, Patricia B. Cirone, Phoebe Hinkle, Sharon Udasin, Siobhan Muir, and Victoria Jaye—with even more authors expected to join. 

With such a diverse lineup, it’s the perfect opportunity to discover your next great read, meet a favorite writer, or pick up a unique signed copy as a holiday gift.
