Explore Dia de los Muertos at LCLS

On Saturday, November 7, Laramie County Library System will host a day of activities celebrating Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a traditional Mexican holiday that honors and remembers loved ones who have died.

During Día de los Muertos, families welcome the spirits of loved ones back through colorful ofrendas, or offerings, often decorated with photos, flowers, food, and other meaningful items. The holiday brings families and communities together through traditions, music, food, celebration, and remembrance, offering a colorful perspective on death that focuses on honoring the lives and memories of those who have died.

The Cheyenne Día de los Muertos Community Celebration provides an opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of the holiday and creates a welcoming space for people to celebrate publicly. At the Cheyenne library, you can experience performances and activities for all ages throughout the day and learn more about the traditions surrounding Día de los Muertos.
