Find Your Joy During National Library Week

Joy looks different for everyone. It might be the moment you find the right book, learn something new, solve a problem, or simply spend time in a space where you feel welcome.

From April 19–25, Laramie County Library System (LCLS) invites you to celebrate National Library Week by rediscovering the many ways the library supports everyday life. This year’s theme, Find Your Joy, reflects the role the library plays not just as a place, but as a resource for connection, learning, and opportunity across Laramie County.

Each year, tens of thousands of people walk through LCLS library doors or connect online to access resources, attend programs, use technology, and find support at every stage of life. From early literacy and student success to job searching, skill building, and creative exploration, the library continues to evolve to meet the needs of a growing and changing community.

“Libraries are built around people,” said Executive Director Antonia Gaona. “Our role is to make sure everyone has access to the tools, information, and experiences they need to move forward, whatever that looks like for them.”

Behind every service is a team of staff who bring knowledge, care, and intention to their work. Whether helping someone navigate a new technology, find reliable information, or connect with a program, staff play a central role in creating an experience that is both accessible and meaningful.

Laramie County Library System serves more than 100,000 residents through its main library in Cheyenne, branches in Burns and Pine Bluffs, and its mobile library. With hundreds of thousands of visits each year, the library remains one of the most widely used and trusted resources in the community.

National Library Week is a great time to stop in, explore what’s new, and experience the library for yourself. Walk through the doors, browse the shelves, try a new resource, attend a program, or simply spend time in a space designed for you.
