Mobile Library: A Branch on the Go

What if your next trip to the library didn’t require a trip to the library? 

This fall, the Mobile Library is expanding its route with new stops in the Buffalo Ridge Neighborhood, at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, and at Town & Country Supermarket. The new schedule gives residents more opportunities to visit during the week, in the evening, and even on Saturdays. 

But the Mobile Library is much more than a bus filled with books. It’s a library branch on wheels. 

A Library for Everyone 

If you’ve never visited the Mobile Library before, you may not realize just how much is available inside. The Mobile Library serves adults, teens, and children, with a collection that gives everyone something to browse and discover. 

It also works much like any other library location. You can sign up for a library card, check out new materials, and return items you borrowed from the library. If the Mobile Library is the most convenient way for you to use the library, you can select it as your primary location and have your holds sent there for pickup. 

And you don’t have to be looking for a book to make use of the Mobile Library, either. Free Wi-Fi is available during stops, giving you another way to connect when the Mobile Library visits your community. 

Three New Stops This Fall 

One of the biggest additions to this fall’s schedule is a new evening stop in the Buffalo Ridge Neighborhood. The Mobile Library will be there on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 6:00–7:30 p.m., giving residents a chance to visit later in the day. 

The Mobile Library is also adding a stop at F.E. Warren Air Force Base on the second and fourth Thursdays from 3:30–5:00 p.m. By bringing the Mobile Library onto the base, military families can access library materials and services without having to make a separate trip into town. 

For those looking for a weekend option, the Mobile Library visits Town & Country Supermarket on the first and third Saturdays from 2:30–4:00 p.m. Whether you’re already out running errands or making a special trip, you can step aboard and take care of your library visit while you’re there. 

Find a Stop Near You 

The Mobile Library’s fall route reaches far beyond these three stops. It also visits communities and locations throughout Laramie County, including Albin, Carpenter, Gilchrist Elementary, Hawks Point and Robins Point Apartments, Prairie View Apartments, and West Winds Mobile Home Community.
