Mobile Library Update: Timeline Adjusted for New Vehicle Delivery

We want to share an update about the launch of Laramie County Library System’s new mobile library.

Due to a production delay, the timeline for delivery of the new vehicle has shifted. Delays like this are not uncommon for custom vehicles of this size and complexity, but they do affect our schedule for launching the new mobile library and the schedule for the current bookmobile.

Based on the latest information from the manufacturer, we now expect delivery of the new vehicle in early April.

What This Means for Mobile Library Service

As we prepare to transition to the new mobile library, there will be a temporary suspension of all mobile library service while our team completes final preparations. During this time, staff will be training drivers, moving the collection, and preparing the new vehicle for service.

This transition period is expected to last several weeks, beginning in mid-April and continuing into early-May.

We know that many patrons rely on mobile library stops, and we appreciate your continued patience while we make this transition.

Mobile Library Stops in March

While we prepare for the new vehicle, mobile library stops will continue throughout March using the current bookmobile. These visits will help maintain access to library materials and services during the transition.

Mobile library service will be temporarily suspended beginning March 27 while staff prepare the new vehicle and move the collection.
