A Common Ground Scavenger Hunt: Pine Bluffs

A town once known as Rock Ranch, Pine Bluffs in eastern Laramie County was founded in 1868. Over the years, it became home to Native American tribes, cowboys, and cattle ranchers, each leaving their mark on the area’s rich history. As a major stop along the Union Pacific Railroad, Pine Bluffs earned the nickname “Frontier Crossroads.” It was one of the largest cattle shipping points in the region, where busy cattle trails crisscrossed the plains.
As part of our celebration of Common Ground: 250 Years of Stories in the Making, we invite you to discover more about the history and character of Pine Bluffs.
Beginning Saturday, May 9, join us for a community-wide scavenger hunt, Stop by the Pine Bluffs Branch Library to pick up your scavenger hunt sheet and start your adventure. Each clue will lead you to a location, some historic and some unexpected.
As you explore, mark off each stop and write down the name of every place you discover. Once you’ve completed the hunt, return your sheet to the library by May 23 to claim your prize.
