PRESS RELEASE – Early Voting Event

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – July 19, 2024

Laramie County Library to Host Early Voting & Registration in August

Cheyenne, WY – The Laramie County Library is pleased to announce that it will host an Early Voting and Registration event on August 4, 2024, from one to four-thirty p.m. in the Cottonwood Room. “Laramie County Library is excited to host a voter registration and early voter event ahead of the 2024 primary election.” Says Elizabeth Cook, Deputy Director of Public Services. “Collaborating with other county entities to bring civic events and broader access to the community is important and essential to the Library’s vision to ‘champion a knowledgeable and engaged community.’ By providing this voter registration and early voter event outside traditional, Monday through Friday working hours we aim to reach community members that may not have the opportunity to register during their busy lives. Part of the Library’s mission is to be a community hub and this event is a great example of pooling community resources to provide access.”

At this event, community members will be able to register to vote, cast an early ballot in the 2024 Primary Election for the party with which they are affiliated, and request an absentee ballot.  Voters who register at the event can also cast a ballot that same day.  However, attendees will not be able to change their party affiliation at this event as the deadline for that has passed.

The library encourages voters planning to attend the event to verify their registration status and ensure that they arrive with all necessary identification documents. A valid Wyoming driver’s license is sufficient to both register and vote. Voters without a driver’s license can find a comprehensive list of acceptable forms of identification to register at https://sos.wyo.gov/Elections/State/RegisteringToVote.aspx and information about what is required to vote at https://sos.wyo.gov/Elections/VoterID/
