Brown Bag Book Club is back for the fall! Each month, children in grades 3–6 will read a book then meet to chat about the book and enjoy fun activities and a sweet treat. Participants may bring a “brown bag” snack if they choose; beverages will be provided. For October, we will be reading Doll Bones by Holly Black. Quick book description: Zach, Poppy, and Alice have been playing an ever-changing game of pirates and thieves, mermaids and warriors for years. Ruling over their game is the Great Queen, a bone-china doll that curses those who displease her. After Poppy has a dream about a ghost who needs the Great Queen to be buried in her grave to find peace, the three friends set off on an adventure to satisfy the restless spirit. Their adventure quickly turns from enjoyable jaunt to epic journey and they begin to wonder whether the Great Queen is just a doll, or something more sinister….
