Brown Bag Book Club will meet twice during the month of July in the Performance Park just outside the west entrance of the library. Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged. We will review the first half of the book on the 8th and the second half of the book on the 22nd. Participants can bring their “sack lunch” and we will provide the drinks and desserts, along with a fun activity! This month, we will be reading The Strangers by Margaret Peterson Haddix. If you’re in grades 5-7, RSVP above to reserve your spot as space is limited!
Quick book description: What makes you, you? The Greystone kids thought they knew. They’ve been a happy family, just the three of them and their mom. But everything changes when reports of three kidnapped children–who share the same first and middle names, ages, and exact birth dates as the Greystone kids–reach the Greystone family. This bizarre coincidence makes them wonder: who exactly are these strangers? Before Chess, Emma, and Finn can question their mom about it, she takes off on a mysterious work trip. But puzzling clues left behind lead to complex codes, hidden rooms, and a dangerous secret that will turn their world upside down.
