Meeting Made Easier at the Laramie County Library

Laramie County Library is a great place to meet. Coworkers can come together over coffee in the café, friends can gather on the first floor to discuss the latest book they’ve read, and families can explore the second floor together to see what new items it holds.

But, informal gatherings are not the only way to meet at the library. In fact, thousands of people utilize the library’s meeting rooms for scheduled gatherings, meetings, or events. In just one month, our meeting rooms host an average of 150-200 public meetings which an average of 3,200 people attend. Between August 2017 and July 2018, we had 38,085 people attend a public meeting at Laramie County Library.

We have five meeting rooms and a computer classroom (which requires training before booking) that the public can book for their various clubs, organizations, and societies. A variety of groups utilize our spaces, everything from government organizations to enthusiast clubs, and everyone is welcome to request a meeting room for their varying purposes.

Booking one of our meeting rooms became even easier as of November 1st. Now, anyone can get on the Laramie County Library website, www.lclsonline.org, and request a meeting room by clicking on “Services” at the top of the page, then on “Meeting Rooms” in the drop down bar. Once you get to the “Meeting Rooms” page, all you have to do is click on the “Request a Meeting Room” button!

Once you’ve clicked the button, the new website will ask you to create an account using your email address. Once you’ve registered an account, you can log in any time you want to book a meeting room. With your new account, you are able to request a room, look at what rooms are available at any given day and time, and see what rooms you have already booked. The new system also sends an email automatically when a room request has been accepted, or when a meeting has been booked, edited, or cancelled.

You can book a meeting room online up to 90 days in advance of an event, or you can still book a room in person at the Ask Here desk on the first floor up to three months in advance. All the same rules and policies apply to booking a meeting room, all of which can be found here: Meeting Room Policy.

So, request a room, gather up your group, and enjoy meeting, now made easier, at Laramie County Library System!
