The Booklovers Bash Has Gone Virtual

C.J. Box is in the house! Or, should we say C.J. Box is in your house? The famous author will be live-streamed straight to your home from the Cheyenne library on Friday, September 25 for this year’s virtual Booklovers Bash.

Traditionally, the Booklovers Bash is a grand event at Little America with hundreds of library supporters gathering to hear a renowned author, but, this year, the pandemic has kicked our annual tradition to the curb.

Undaunted, the Laramie County Library Foundation Board of Directors pressed on and planned a Booklovers Bash like no other. The 2020 Bash will be live-streamed and participants will be able to watch the program – and bid on the auction – from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

When planning the “new normal” Bash, the Foundation Board’s first call was to our friend and library supporter C.J. Box. He said, “I’ll do whatever you need.”

Board member Craig Blumenshine, who is also a senior producer for WyomingPBS, offered to interview C.J., and will ultimately use the footage for a Wyoming Chronicle program. Dozens and dozens of people donated treasures for our silent auction, and ten bakers will provide delicious treats for our world-famous Dessert Dash. So, while we may not all be in the same room, we will still have great fun while supporting our terrific library.

Plan on joining us on Friday, September 25 at 7 pm. It is easy to register – and tickets are free! Just go to After you register, we will send you the exclusive link to the live stream. We will also give you a bidder number so you can pick up one of our fun and valuable online auction items.

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this year’s Bash is the tremendous outpouring of support from our sponsors. Because of their support, we are able to offer tickets to the virtual Booklovers Bash for free. Check out the list of generous individuals and businesses below. When you see them, please share our gratitude for their partnership.
